உபாகமம் 23
1 விதையடிக்கப்பட்டவனும், கோசமாறுபட்டவனும் கர்த்தருடைய சபைக்கு உட்படலாகாது.
2 வேசிப்பிள்ளையும் கர்த்தருடைய சபைக்கு உட்படலாகாது; அவனுக்குப் பத்தாம் தலைமுறையானவனும் கர்த்தருடைய சபைக்கு உட்படலாகாது.
3 அம்மோனியனும் மோவாபியனும் கர்த்தருடைய சபைக்கு உட்படலாகாது; பத்தாம் தலைமுறையிலும் என்றைக்கும் அவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய சபைக்கு உட்படலாகாது.
4 நீங்கள் எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுவருகிற வழியிலே, அவர்கள் அப்பத்தோடும் தண்ணீரோடும் உங்களுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டு வராததினிமித்தமும், உன்னைச் சபிக்கும்படியாய் மெசொப்பொத்தாமியாவின் ஊராகிய பேத்தோரிலிருந்த பேயோரின் குமாரன் பிலேயாமுக்குக் கூலிபேசி அவனை அழைப்பித்ததினிமித்தமும் இப்படிச் செய்யவேண்டும்.
5 உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் பிலேயாமுக்குச் செவிகொடுக்கச் சித்தமில்லாமல், உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன்மேல் அன்புகூர்ந்தபடியினால், உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அந்தச் சாபத்தை உனக்கு ஆசீர்வாதமாக மாறப்பண்ணினார்.
6 நீ உன் ஆயுள்நாட்களுள்ளளவும் ஒருக்காலும் அவர்கள் சமாதானத்தையும் நன்மையையும் தேடாதே.
1 He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.
2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord.
3 An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the Lord for ever:
4 Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.
5 Nevertheless the Lord thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the Lord thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the Lord thy God loved thee.
6 Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.
