2 சாமுவேல் 17
24 தாவீது மக்னாயீமுக்கு வந்தான்; அப்சலோம் சகல இஸ்ரவேலரோடுங்கூட யோர்தானைக் கடந்தான்.
25 அப்சலோம், யோவாபுக்குப் பதிலாக அமாசாவை இராணுவத்தலைவனாக்கினான்; இந்த அமாசா, நாகாசின் குமாரத்தியும் செருயாவின் சகோதரியும் யோவாபின் அத்தையுமாகிய அபிகாயிலைப் படைத்த இஸ்ரவேலனாகிய எத்திரா என்னும் பேருள்ள ஒரு மனுஷனுடைய குமாரனாயிருந்தான்.
26 இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களும் அப்சலோமும் கீலேயாத் தேசத்திலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.
24 Then David came to Mahanaim. And Absalom passed over Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.
25 And Absalom made Amasa captain of the host instead of Joab: which Amasa was a man’s son, whose name was Ithra an Israelite, that went in to Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister to Zeruiah Joab’s mother.
26 So Israel and Absalom pitched in the land of Gilead.
