யாத்திராகமம் 14:20
அது எகிப்தியரின் சேனையும் இஸ்ரவேலரின் சேனையும் இராமுழுதும் ஒன்றோடொன்று சேராதபடி அவைகள் நடுவில் வந்தது; எகிப்தியருக்கு அது மேகமும் அந்தகாரமுமாய் இருந்தது, இஸ்ரவேலருக்கோ அது இரவை வெளிச்சமாக்கிற்று.

அது எகிப்தியர்களின் சேனையும் இஸ்ரவேலர்களின் சேனையும் இரவுமுழுவதும் ஒன்றோடொன்று சேராதபடி அவைகள் நடுவில் வந்தது; எகிப்தியர்களுக்கு அது மேகமும் இருளாகவும் இருந்தது, இஸ்ரவேலர்களுக்கோ அது இரவை வெளிச்சமாக்கிற்று.

இவ்வாறு அம்மேகம் எகிப்தியருக்கும் இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களுக்கும் இடையே சென்று நின்றது. இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களுக்கு வெளிச்சம் இருந்தது. ஆனால் எகிப்தியர்களையோ இருள் சூழ்ந்தது. எனவே அந்த இரவில் எகிப்தியர்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களை நெருங்கிவர முடியவில்லை.

அது எகிப்தியரின் அணிவகுப்புக்கும் இஸ்ரயேலரின் அணிவகுப்புக்கும் இடையே சென்றுகொண்டிருந்தது. அந்த மேகம் எகிப்தியருக்கு இருளாகவும் இஸ்ரயேலருக்கு இரவில் ஒளியாகவும் அமைந்தது; இதனால் இரவில் எந்நேரத்திலும் அவர்கள் இவர்களை நெருங்கவில்லை.⒫
