ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியா அதைக்கேட்டபோது தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்து, இரட்டு உடுத்துக்கொண்டு, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் பிரவேசித்து,

ராஜாவாகிய எசேக்கியா அதைக் கேட்டபோது, தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்து, இரட்டு உடுத்திக்கொண்டு, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் பிரவேசித்து,

ராஜா நியாயப்பிரமாண புஸ்தகத்தின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டபோது, தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு,

அந்திப்பலி நேரத்திலே நான் துக்கத்தோடே எழுந்து, கிழித்துக்கொண்ட வஸ்திரத்தோடும் சால்வையோடும் முழங்காற்படியிட்டு, என்கைகளை என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு நேராக விரித்து:

அப்பொழுது யோபு எழுந்திருந்து, தன் சால்வையைக் கிழித்து, தன் தலையைச் சிரைத்து, தரையிலே விழுந்து பணிந்து:

அப்பொழுது இல்க்கியாவின் குமாரனாகிய எலியாக்கீம் என்னும் அரமனை விசாரிப்புக்காரனும், செப்னா என்னும் சம்பிரதியும், ஆசாப்பின் குமாரனாகிய யோவாக் என்னும் கணக்கனும் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு, எசேக்கியாவினிடத்தில் வந்து, அப்சாக்கேயின் வார்த்தைகளை அவனுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது நினிவேயிலுள்ள ஜனங்கள் தேவனை விசுவாசித்து, உபவாசஞ்செய்யும்படிக் கூறினார்கள்; பெரியோர்முதல் சிறியோர்மட்டும் இரட்டுடுத்திக்கொண்டார்கள்.

கொராசினே! உனக்கு ஐயோ, பெத்சாயிதாவே உனக்கு ஐயோ, உங்களில் செய்யப்பட்ட பலத்த செய்கைகள் தீருவிலும் சீதோனிலும் செய்யப்பட்டிருந்ததானால், அப்பொழுதே இரட்டுடுத்திச் சாம்பலில் உட்கார்ந்து மனந்திரும்பியிருப்பார்கள்.

ராஜாவாயினும் அந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் கேட்ட அவனுடைய சகல ஊழியக்காரராயினும் பயப்படவுமில்லை, தங்கள் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொள்ளவுமில்லை.
