2 நாளாகமம் 24:21
அதினால் அவர்கள் அவனுக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கட்டுப்பாடுபண்ணி, கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயப்பிராகாரத்தில் ராஜாவினுடைய கற்பனையின்படி அவனைக் கல்லெறிந்து கொன்றார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது அந்த மூன்றுபேர்களும் பெலிஸ்தர்களின் முகாமிற்குள் துணிவுடன் நுழைந்துபோய், பெத்லகேமின் நுழைவுவாயிலில் இருக்கிற கிணற்றிலிருந்து தண்ணீர் மொண்டு, தாவீதிடம் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள்; ஆனாலும் அவன் அதைக் குடிக்க மனமில்லாமல் அதைக் கர்த்தருக்கென்று ஊற்றிப்போட்டு:

ஆனால் மூன்று பேரும் பெலிஸ்தரோடு வழியில் போரிட்ட பிறகே உள்ளே நுழைய முடிந்தது. அவர்கள் பெத்லேகேம் வாசல் அருகில் உள்ள கிணற்று தண்ணீரைக் கொண்டுவந்து தாவீதிடம் கொடுத்தனர். தாவீது அதனைக் குடிக்க மறுத்துவிட்டான். அதனை கர்த்தருக்கு காணிக்கையாகத் தரையில் ஊற்றினான்.
