சாமுவேலை நோக்கி: நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் எங்களைப் பெலிஸ்தரின் கைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி ரட்சிக்கும்படிக்கு, எங்களுக்காக அவரை நோக்கி ஓயாமல் வேண்டிக்கொள்ளும் என்றார்கள்.

ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனை நிந்திக்கும்படி, அசீரியா ராஜாவாகிய தன் ஆண்டவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்ட ரப்சாக்கே சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளை உமது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் கேட்டிருக்கிறார்; உமது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் கேட்டிருக்கிற வார்த்தைகளினிமித்தம் தண்டனைசெய்வார்; ஆகையால், இன்னும் மீதியாயிருக்கிறவர்களுக்காக விண்ணப்பஞ்செய்வீராக என்று எசேக்கியா சொல்லச்சொன்னார் என்றார்கள்.
