உன் விபசாரங்களையும், உன் கனைக்குதல்களையும், வெளியிலே மேடுகளின்மேல் நீ பண்ணின வேசித்தனத்தின் முறைகேடுகளாகிய உன் அவருப்புகளையும் நான் கண்டேன்; எருசலேமே, உனக்கு ஐயோ! நீ சுத்திகரிக்கப்படமாட்டாயா? இது இன்னும் எத்தனை காலத்துக்குப்பின் நடக்கும்? என்கிறார்.

அக்காலத்திலே நான் எருசலேமை விளக்குக்கொளுத்திச் சோதித்து, வண்டல்போலக் குழம்பியிருக்கிறவர்களும், கர்த்தர் நன்மை செய்வதும் இல்லை தீமைசெய்வதும் இல்லையென்று தங்கள் இருதயத்தில் சொல்லுகிறவர்களுமான மனிதர்களைத் தண்டிப்பேன்.

“அந்த வேளையில், நான் ஒரு விளக்கை எடுத்து எருசலேம் முழுவதும் தேடுவேன். நான் தம் வழியில் செல்வதில் திருப்தி காணும் ஜனங்களைக் கண்டு கொள்வேன். அந்த ஜனங்கள், ‘கர்த்தர் எதுவும் செய்வதிலை. அவர் உதவுவதில்லை! அவர் காயப்படுத்துவதில்லை!’ நான் அவர்களைக் கண்டு பிடித்து தண்டிப்பேன் என்று கூறுகின்றார்.

And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.

And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps; and I will punish the men that are settled on their lees, that say in their heart, Jehovah will not do good, neither will he do evil.
