ஞானிகளின் நாவு அறிவை உபயோகப்படுத்தும்; மூடரின் வாயோ புத்தியீனத்தைக் கக்கும்.

இப்படியிருக்கிறபடியால், மனுஷன் தன் செய்கைகளில் மகிழ்ச்சியாயிருக்கும் நன்மையையேயல்லாமல், வேறே நன்மையில்லையென்று கண்டேன்; இதுவே அவன் பங்கு; தனக்குப் பின்வரும் காரியங்களைக் காணும்படிக்கு அவனைத் திரும்பிவரப்பண்ணுகிறவன் யார்?

தொல்லையின் திரட்சியினால் சொப்பனம் பிறக்கிறதுபோல, வார்த்தைகளின் திரட்சியினால் மூடனுடைய சத்தம் பிறக்கும்.

நிழலைப்போன்ற மாயையான தன் ஜீவகாலத்தைப் போக்கும் மனுஷனுக்கு இந்த ஜீவனில் நன்மை இன்னதென்று அறிந்தவன் யார்? தனக்குப்பின்பு சூரியனுக்குக் கீழே சம்பவிக்குங்காரியம் இன்னதென்று மனுஷனுக்கு அறிவிப்பவன் யார்?

இன்னது சம்பவிக்கும் என்று அவன் அறியானே; அது இன்னவிதமாய்ச் சம்பவிக்கும் என்று அவனுக்குச் சொல்லத்தக்கவன் யார்?

தம்முடைய பாவத்தோடே மீறுதலைக் கூட்டினார்; அவர் எங்களுக்குளே கைகொட்டி, தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாய்த் தம்முடைய வார்த்தைகளை மிகுதியாக வசனித்தார் என்றான்.

ஆகையால் யோபு வீணாய்த் தம்முடைய வாயைத் திறந்து, அறிவில்லாமல் வார்த்தைகளை மிகுதியாய் வசனிக்கிறார் என்றான்.
