நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்; தன் சகோதரனை நியாயமில்லாமல் கோபித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவன் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கு ஏதுவாயிருப்பான்; தன் சகோதரனை வீணனென்று சொல்லுகிறவன் ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தீர்ப்புக்கு ஏதுவாயிருப்பான்; மூடனே என்று சொல்லுகிறவன் எரிநரகத்திற்கு ஏதுவாயிருப்பான்.

விடியற்காலமானபோது ஜனத்தின் மூப்பரும் பிரதான ஆசாரியரும் வேதபாரகரும் கூடிவந்து, தங்கள் ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தில் அவரைக் கொண்டுவந்து நிறுத்தி:

பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய குடும்பத்தார் யாவரும் எருசலேமிலே கூட்டங்கூடி, அவர்களை நடுவே நிறுத்தி, நீங்கள் எந்த வல்லமையினாலே இதைச் செய்தீர்கள் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

ஜனங்களையும் மூப்பரையும் வேதபாரகரையும் எழுப்பிவிட்டு; அவன்மேல் பாய்ந்து, அவனைப் பிடித்து, ஆலோசனை சங்கத்தாருக்கு முன்பாக இழுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய்;

பவுலின்மேல் யூதராலே ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்ட குற்றம் இன்னதென்று நிச்சயமாய் அறிய விரும்பி, அவன் மறுநாளிலே அவனைக் கட்டவிழ்த்து, பிரதான ஆசாரியரையும் ஆலோசனை சங்கத்தார் அனைவரையும் கூடிவரும்படி கட்டளையிட்டு, அவனைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய், அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக நிறுத்தினான்.
