கச்சையானது மனுஷனுடைய அரைக்குச் சேர்க்கையாயிருக்கிறதுபோல, நான் இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தாரனைவரையும் யூதாவின் குடும்பத்தாரனைவரையும், எனக்கு ஜனங்களாகவும், கீர்த்தியாகவும், துதியாகவும், மகிமையாகவும் சேர்க்கையாக்கிக் கொண்டேன்; ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் செவிகொடாமற்போனார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

கச்சையானது மனிதனுடைய இடுப்பில் இணைக்கப்பட்டு இருக்கிறதுபோல, நான் இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தார் அனைவரையும் யூதாவின் குடும்பத்தார் அனைவரையும், எனக்கு மக்களாகவும், கீர்த்தியாகவும், துதியாகவும், மகிமையாகவும் இணைத்துக்கொண்டேன்; ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் கேட்காமற்போனார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

ஒரு இடுப்புத் துணியை ஒரு மனிதன் இடுப்பைச்சுற்றி இறுக்கமாக கட்டுகிறான். இதைப்போலவே நான் என்னைச் சுற்றிலும் இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தையும் யூதாவின் குடும்பத்தையும் கட்டினேன்” என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார். “நான் அதைச் செய்தேன். எனவே, அந்த ஜனங்கள் என் ஜனங்களாவார்கள். பிறகு, எனது ஜனங்கள் கனமும் துதியும் மகிமையும் எனக்குக் கொண்டு வருவார்கள். ஆனால் எனது ஜனங்கள் என்னை கவனிக்கவில்லை.”

கச்சை ஒருவரது இடையோடு ஒட்டியிருப்பதுபோல, இஸ்ரயேல், யூதா வீட்டார் யாவரும் என்னோடு ஒன்றித்திருக்கச் செய்தேன். அவர்கள் எனக்கு மக்களாகவும் பெயராகவும் புகழாகவும் மாட்சியாகவும் இருக்கச் செய்தேன். அவர்களோ எனக்குச் செவி சாய்க்கவில்லை,” என்கிறார் ஆண்டவர்.
