அப்பொழுது பெத்தேலிலிருந்த தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் புத்திரர் எலிசாவினிடத்தில் வந்து: இன்றைக்குக் கர்த்தர் உனக்குத் தலைமையாயிருக்கிற உன் எஜமானை உன்னைவிட்டு எடுத்துக் கொள்வார் என்பது உனக்குத் தெரியுமா என்றார்கள். அதற்கு அவன்: எனக்குத் தெரியும், சும்மா இருங்கள் என்றான்.

அப்பொழுது பெத்தேலிலிருந்த தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் கூட்டத்தார் எலிசாவிடம் வந்து: இன்றைக்குக் கர்த்தர் உனக்குத் தலைமையாயிருக்கிற உன் எஜமானை உன்னைவிட்டு எடுத்துக்கொள்வார் என்பது உனக்குத் தெரியுமா என்றார்கள். அதற்கு அவன்: எனக்குத் தெரியும், சும்மா இருங்கள் என்றான்.

சில தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் எலிசாவிடம் வந்து, “இன்று உங்கள் எஜமானனான எலியாவைக் கர்த்தர் உன்னிடமிருந்து எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்போகும் செய்தி தெரியுமா?” என்று கேட்டார்கள். அதற்கு அவன், “ஆமாம், எனக்குத் தெரியும். அது பற்றி பேசவேண்டாம்” என்று பதிலளித்தான்.
