கர்த்தரின் தாசனாகிய மோசே வனாந்தரத்தில் இஸ்ரவேலுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட வரியைக் கர்த்தருக்குக் கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்று யூதாவிலும் எருசலேமிலும் பறைசாற்றுவித்தார்கள்.

பிறகு யூதாவிலும், எருசலேமிலும் லேவியர்கள் ஒரு அறிவிப்பு செய்தனர். கர்த்தருக்கு வரிப்பணத்தைக் கொண்டுவரும்படி அவர்கள் ஜனங்களை வேண்டிக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டனர். இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் பாலைவனத்தில் இருந்தபோது, தேவனின் ஊழியனான மோசே எங்களிடம் கொடுக்கும்படி கேட்டுக்கொண்ட பணத்தின் அளவு தான் இவ்வரிப் பணம் ஆகும்.
