இணை வசனம்

கர்த்தருடைய வழிகளில் அவன் இருதயம் உற்சாகங்கொண்டது; அவன் மேடைகளையும் விக்கிரகத் தோப்புகளையும் யூதாவை விட்டகற்றினான்.

ஆகிலும் நீர் விக்கிரகத்தோப்புகளை தேசத்தை விட்டகற்றி, தேவனைத் தேட உம்முடைய இருதயத்தை நேராக்கின விஷயத்தில் நன்மையான காரியங்கள் உம்மிடத்திலே காணப்பட்டது உண்டு என்றான்.

அவன் கர்த்தரைத் தேடுகிறதற்குத் தன் இருதயத்தை நேராக்காமல் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தான்.

ஆகிலும் கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கு உணரத்தக்க இருதயத்தையும், காணத்தக்க கண்களையும், கேட்கத்தக்க காதுகளையும் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் கொடுக்கவில்லை.

அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தார் யாவரையும் நோக்கி: நீங்கள் உங்கள் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் கர்த்தரிடத்தில் திரும்புகிறவர்களானால், அந்நிய தேவர்களையும் அஸ்தரோத்தையும் உங்கள் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்கி, உங்கள் இருதயத்தைக் கர்த்தருக்கு நேராக்கி, அவர் ஒருவருக்கே ஆராதனைசெய்யுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவர் உங்களைப் பெலிஸ்தருடைய கைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கிவிடுவார் என்றான்.

அந்நிய தேவர்களின் பலிபீடங்களையும் மேடைகளையும் அகற்றி, சிலைகளை உடைத்து, விக்கிரகத்தோப்புகளை வெட்டி,

எசேக்கியா அவர்களுக்காக விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணி, தங்கள் பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரான தேவனைத் தேடும்படிக்கு, தங்கள் இருதயத்தை நேராக்கினவர்கள் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்திற்கேற்ற சுத்தாங்கம் அடையாதிருந்தாலும், கிருபையுள்ள கர்த்தர் அவர்கள் எல்லாருக்கும் மன்னிப்பாராக என்றான்.
