உங்களுக்குப் புத்திசொல்லும்படிக்கும், நீங்கள் நிலைகொண்டு நிற்கிற கிருபை தேவனுடைய மெய்யான கிருபைதானென்று சாட்சியிடும்படிக்கும், நான் சுருக்கமாய் உங்களுக்கு எழுதி, எனக்குத் தோன்றுகிறபடி உண்மையுள்ள சகோதரனாகிய சில்வானுவின் கையிலே கொடுத்து அனுப்பியிருக்கிறேன்.

அவனுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கித்தீமின் கப்பல்கள் வரும்; அதினால் அவன் மனவேதனையடைந்து, திரும்பிப்போய், பரிசுத்த உடன்படிக்கைக்கு விரோதமாகக் கோபம்கொண்டு, அதற்கானதைச் செய்து, பரிசுத்த உடன்படிக்கையைத் தள்ளினவர்களை அநுசரிப்பான்.

கித்தீமிலிருந்து கப்பல்கள் வந்து வட பகுதி அரசனுக்கு எதிராகப் போரிடும். அக்கப்பல்கள் வந்து அவனை அச்சுறுத்துவதை அவன் காண்பான். பிறகு அவன் திரும்பிப் போய் பரிசுத்த உடன்படிக்கைக்கு விரோதமாகக் கோபங்கொள்வான். அவன் திரும்பி, பரிசுத்த உடன்படிக்கைகளைக் கைவிட்டவர்களை ஆதரிப்பான்.

For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.
