ஆதியாகமம் 49
8 யூதாவே, சகோதரரால் புகழப்படுபவன் நீயே; உன் கரம் உன் சத்துருக்களுடைய பிடரியின்மேல் இருக்கும்; உன் தகப்பனுடைய புத்திரர் உன்முன் பணிவார்கள்.
9 யூதா பாலசிங்கம், நீ இரை கவர்ந்துகொண்டு ஏறிப்போனாய்: என் மகனே, சிங்கம்போலும் கிழச்சிங்கம்போலும் மடங்கிப் படுத்தான்: அவனை எழுப்புகிறவன் யார்?
10 சமாதான கர்த்தர் வருமளவும் செங்கோல் யூதாவைவிட்டு நீங்குவதும் இல்லை, நியாயப்பிரமாணிக்கன் அவன் பாதங்களை விட்டு ஒழிவதும் இல்லை; ஜனங்கள் அவரிடத்தில் சேருவார்கள்.
11 அவன் தன் கழுதைக் குட்டியைத் திராட்சச்செடியிலும் தன் கோளிகைக் கழுதைகளின் குட்டியை நற்குல திராட்சைச் செடியிலும் கட்டுவான்; திராட்சரசத்திலே தன் வஸ்திரத்தையும், திராட்சப் பழங்களின் இரத்தத்திலே தன் அங்கியையும் தோய்ப்பான்.
12 அவன் கண்கள் திராட்சரசத்தினால் சிவப்பாயும், அவன் பற்கள் பாலினால் வெண்மையாயும் இருக்கும்.
8 Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father’s children shall bow down before thee.
9 Judah is a lion’s whelp: from the prey, my son, thou art gone up: he stooped down, he couched as a lion, and as an old lion; who shall rouse him up?
10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
11 Binding his foal unto the vine, and his ass’s colt unto the choice vine; he washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:
12 His eyes shall be red with wine, and his teeth white with milk.
