2 சாமுவேல் 5
1 அக்காலத்திலே இஸ்ரவேலின் கோத்திரங்களெல்லாம் எப்ரோனிலிருக்கிற தாவீதினிடத்தில் வந்து: இதோ, நாங்கள் உம்முடைய எலும்பும் உம்முடைய மாம்சமுமானவர்கள்.
2 சவுல் எங்கள்மேல் ராஜாவாயிருக்கும்போதே இஸ்ரவேலை நடத்திக்கொண்டுபோனவரும் நடத்திகொண்டு வந்தவரும் நீரே; கர்த்தர்: என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலை நீ மேய்த்து, நீ இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் தலைவனாயிருப்பாய் என்று உம்மிடத்தில் சொன்னாரே என்றார்கள்.
3 இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பர் எல்லாரும் எப்ரோனில் ராஜாவினிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள்; தாவீதுராஜா எப்ரோனிலே கர்த்தருக்குமுன்பாக அவர்களோடே உடன்படிக்கைபண்ணினபின்பு, அவர்கள் தாவீதை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினார்கள்.
4 தாவீது ராஜாவாகும்போது, முப்பது வயதாயிருந்தான்; அவன் நாற்பது வருஷம் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணினான்.
5 அவன் எப்ரோனிலே யூதாவின்மேல் ஏழு வருஷமும் ஆறு மாதமும், எருசலேமிலே சமஸ்த இஸ்ரவேலின்மேலும் யூதாவின்மேலும் முப்பத்துமூன்று வருஷமும் ராஜ்யபாரம்பண்ணினான்.
1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
2 Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the Lord said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel.
3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the Lord: and they anointed David king over Israel.
4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.
