19 பினெகாசின் மனைவியாகிய அவன் மருமகள் நிறைகர்ப்பிணியாயிருந்தாள்; அவள் தேவனுடைய பெட்டி பிடிபட்ட செய்தியையும், தன் மாமனும் தன் புருஷனும் இறந்து போனதையும் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவள் கர்ப்பவேதனைப்பட்டு குனிந்து பிரசவித்தாள்.
20 அவள் சாகப்போகிற நேரத்தில் அவளண்டையிலே நின்ற ஸ்திரீகள்: நீ பயப்படாதே, ஆண்பிள்ளையைப் பெற்றாய் என்றார்கள்; அவளோ அதற்கு ஒன்றும் சொல்லவுமில்லை, அதின்மேல் சிந்தைவைக்கவுமில்லை.
21 தேவனுடைய பெட்டி பிடிபட்டு, அவளுடைய மாமனும் அவளுடைய புருஷனும் இறந்து போனபடியினால், அவள்: மகிமை இஸ்ரவேலை விட்டுப் போயிற்று என்று சொல்லி, அந்தப் பிள்ளைக்கு இக்கபோத் என்று பேரிட்டாள்.
19 And his daughter in law, Phinehas’ wife, was with child, near to be delivered: and when she heard the tidings that the ark of God was taken, and that her father in law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and travailed; for her pains came upon her.
20 And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said unto her, Fear not; for thou hast born a son. But she answered not, neither did she regard it.
21 And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband.
