8 இனி எனக்கும் விக்கிரகங்களுக்கும் என்ன என்று எப்பிராயீம் சொல்லுவான்; நான் அவனுக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து, அவனால் நோக்கமாயிருந்தேன்; நான் பச்சையான தேவதாரு விருட்சம்போலிருக்கிறேன்; என்னாலே உன் கனியுண்டாயிற்று என்று எப்பிராயீம் சொல்லுவான்.
8 Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.

10 வனாந்தரத்தில் திராட்சக்குலைகளைக் கண்டுபிடிப்பதுபோல இஸ்ரவேலைக் கண்டுபிடித்தேன்; அத்திமரத்தில் முதல்தரம் பழுத்த கனிகளைப்போல உங்கள் பிதாக்களைக் கண்டுபிடித்தேன்; ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் பாகால்பேயோர் அண்டைக்குப்போய், இலச்சையானதற்குத் தங்களை ஒப்புவித்து, தாங்கள் நேசித்தவைகளைப்போலத் தாங்களும் அருவருப்புள்ளவர்களானார்கள்.
