அத்தேசத்திலே பஞ்சம் உண்டாயிற்று; தேசத்திலே பஞ்சம் கொடிதாயிருந்தபடியால், ஆபிராம் எகிப்து தேசத்திலே தங்கும்படி அவ்விடத்துக்குப் போனான்.

כִּֽי

ஆபிராம் எகிப்திலே வந்தபோது, எகிப்தியர் அந்த ஸ்திரீயை மிகுந்த அழகுள்ளவளென்று கண்டார்கள்.

כִּֽי

is Therefore pass, to come shall	וְהָיָ֗ה	wĕhāyâ	veh-ha-YA
it	כִּֽי	kî	kee
when see	יִרְא֤וּ	yirʾû	yeer-OO
shall Egyptians	אֹתָךְ֙	ʾōtok	oh-toke
the say, shall they that	הַמִּצְרִ֔ים	hammiṣrîm	ha-meets-REEM
thee,	וְאָֽמְר֖וּ	wĕʾāmĕrû	veh-ah-meh-ROO
his wife: This	אִשְׁתּ֣וֹ	ʾištô	eesh-TOH
kill will they and	זֹ֑את	zōt	zote
me, but they will save thee alive.	וְהָֽרְג֥וּ	wĕhārĕgû	veh-ha-reh-ɡOO
	אֹתִ֖י	ʾōtî	oh-TEE
	וְאֹתָ֥ךְ	wĕʾōtāk	veh-oh-TAHK
	יְחַיּֽוּ׃	yĕḥayyû	yeh-ha-yoo
