Genesis 42:13
And they said, Your servants are twelve brethren, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan; and, behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is not.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: உமது அடியாராகிய நாங்கள் பன்னிரண்டு சகோதரர்கள்; கானான் தேசத்தில் இருக்கிற ஒரு தகப்பனுடைய பிள்ளைகள்; இளையவன் இப்பொழுது எங்கள் தகப்பனிடத்தில் இருக்கிறான்; ஒருவன் காணாமற்போனான் என்றார்கள்.

அவர்களோ, “இல்லை நாங்கள் அனைவரும் சகோதரர்கள். மொத்தம் பன்னிரெண்டு பேர். எல்லோருக்கும் ஒரே தந்தை. எங்கள் இளைய தம்பி வீட்டில் தந்தையோடு இருக்கிறான். இன்னொரு சகோதரன் பல ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் மரித்து போனான். இப்போது உங்கள் முன் வேலைக்காரர்களைப் போன்று இருக்கிறோம். நாங்கள் கானான் நாட்டிலிருந்து வந்துள்ளோம்” என்றார்கள்.
