எபிரெயர் 12:14
யாவரோடும் சமாதானமாயிருக்கவும், பரிசுத்தமுள்ளவர்களாயிருக்கவும் நாடுங்கள்; பரிசுத்தமில்லாமல் ஒருவனும் கர்த்தரைத் தரிசிப்பதில்லையே.
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
1 தெசலோனிக்கேயர் 4:3

Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
மாற்கு 7:15
மனுஷனுக்குப் புறம்பே இருந்து அவனுக்குள்ளே போகிறதொன்றும் அவனைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தமாட்டாது; அவன் உள்ளத்திலிருந்து புறப்படுகிறவைகளே மனுஷனைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தும்.
There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

களவுகளும், பொருளாசைகளும், துஷ்டத்தனங்களும், கபடும், காமவிகாரமும், வன்கண்ணும், தூஷணமும், பெருமையும், மதிகேடும் புறப்பட்டுவரும்.
Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

பொல்லாங்கானவைகளாகிய இவைகளெல்லாம் உள்ளத்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு மனுஷனைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தும் என்றார்.
All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
ஏசாயா 59:2
உங்கள் அக்கிரமங்களே உங்களுக்கும் உங்கள் தேவனுக்கும் நடுவாகப் பிரிவினை உண்டாக்குகிறது; உங்கள் பாவங்களே அவர் உங்களுக்குச் செவிகொடாதபடிக்கு அவருடைய முகத்தை உங்களுக்கு மறைக்கிறது.
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
2 கொரிந்தியர் 6:14
அந்நிய நுகத்திலே அவிசுவாசிகளுடன் பிணைக்கப்படாதிருப்பீர்களாக; நீதிக்கும் அநீதிக்கும் சம்பந்தமேது? ஒளிக்கும் இருளுக்கும் ஐக்கியமேது?
Be all of you not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion has light with darkness?
