1 சாமுவேல் 7
12 அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் ஒரு கல்லை எடுத்து, மிஸ்பாவுக்கும் சேனுக்கும் நடுவாக நிறுத்தி, இம்மட்டும் கர்த்தர் எங்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்தார் என்று சொல்லி, அதற்கு எபெனேசர் என்று பேரிட்டான்.
13 இந்தப்பிரகாரம் பெலிஸ்தர் அப்புறம் இஸ்ரவேலின் எல்லையிலே வராதபடிக்குத் தாழ்த்தப்பட்டார்கள்; சாமுவேலின் நாளெல்லாம் கர்த்தருடைய கை பெலிஸ்தருக்கு விரோதமாய் இருந்தது.
14 பெலிஸ்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் கையிலிருந்து பிடித்திருந்த எக்ரோன் துவக்கிக் காத்மட்டுமுள்ள பட்டணங்களும் இஸ்ரவேலுக்குத் திரும்பக் கிடைத்தது; அவைகளையும் அவைகளின் எல்லைகளையும் இஸ்ரவேலர் பெலிஸ்தர் கையிலே இராதபடிக்கு, விடுவித்துக் கொண்டார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேலுக்கும் எமோரியருக்கும் சமாதானம் உண்டாயிருந்தது.
15 சாமுவேல் உயிரோடிருந்த நாளெல்லாம் இஸ்ரவேலை நியாயம் விசாரித்தான்.
16 அவன் வருஷாவருஷம் புறப்பட்டு, பெத்தேலையும் கில்காலையும் மிஸ்பாவையும் சுற்றிப்போய், அவ்விடங்களிலெல்லாம் இஸ்ரவேலை நியாயம் விசாரித்த பின்பு,
12 Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Eben-ezer, saying, Hitherto hath the Lord helped us.
13 So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
14 And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.
15 And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.
16 And he went from year to year in circuit to Beth-el, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all those places.

14 தன் சகோதரன் சிறையாகக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டதை ஆபிராம் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவன் தன் வீட்டிலே பிறந்த கைபடிந்தவர்களாகிய முந்நூற்றுப் பதினெட்டு ஆட்களுக்கும் ஆயுதம் தரிப்பித்து, தாண் என்னும் ஊர்மட்டும் அவர்களைத் தொடர்ந்து,

15 இராக்காலத்திலே அவனும் அவன் வேலைக்காரரும் பிரிந்து, பவிஞ்சுகளாய் அவர்கள்மேல் விழுந்து, அவர்களை முறியடித்து, தமஸ்குவுக்கு இடதுபுறமான ஓபாமட்டும் துரத்தி,
And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.
16 சகல பொருள்களையும் திருப்பிக்கொண்டுவந்தான்; தன் சகோதரனாகிய லோத்தையும், அவனுடைய பொருள்களையும், ஸ்திரீகளையும், ஜனங்களையும் திருப்பிக்கொண்டுவந்தான்.
And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.
17 அவன் கெதர்லாகோமேரையும் அவனோடிருந்த ராஜாக்களையும் முறியடித்துத் திரும்பிவருகிறபோது, சோதோமின் ராஜா புறப்பட்டு, ராஜாவின் பள்ளத்தாக்கு என்னும் சாவே பள்ளத்தாக்குமட்டும் அவனுக்கு எதிர் கொண்டுபோனான்.
And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king’s dale.
