యెషయా గ్రంథము 53:12
కావున గొప్పవారితో నేనతనికి పాలు పంచిపెట్టెదను ఘనులతో కలిసి అతడు కొల్లసొమ్ము విభాగించుకొనును. ఏలయనగా మరణము నొందునట్లు అతడు తన ప్రాణ మును ధారపోసెను అతిక్రమము చేయువారిలో ఎంచబడినవాడాయెను అనేకుల పాపమును భరించుచు తిరుగుబాటు చేసినవారినిగూర్చి విజ్ఞాపనముచేసెను

| because | שָׁלָל֒ | šālāl | sha-LAHL |
| תַּ֗חַת | taḥat | TA-haht | |
| out poured hath he | אֲשֶׁ֨ר | ʾăšer | uh-SHER |
| his soul | הֶעֱרָ֤ה | heʿĕrâ | heh-ay-RA |
| unto death: | לַמָּ֙וֶת֙ | lammāwet | la-MA-VET |
| he and | נַפְשׁ֔וֹ | napšô | nahf-SHOH |
| was numbered | וְאֶת | wĕʾet | veh-ET |
| with | פֹּשְׁעִ֖ים | pōšĕʿîm | poh-sheh-EEM |
| the transgressors; | נִמְנָ֑ה | nimnâ | neem-NA |
| bare he and | וְהוּא֙ | wĕhûʾ | veh-HOO |
| the sin | חֵטְא | ḥēṭĕʾ | hay-TEH |
| of many, | רַבִּ֣ים | rabbîm | ra-BEEM |
| intercession made and | נָשָׂ֔א | nāśāʾ | na-SA |
| for the transgressors. | וְלַפֹּשְׁעִ֖ים | wĕlappōšĕʿîm | veh-la-poh-sheh-EEM |
