דִּבְרֵי֙ words deev-RAY קֹהֶ֣לֶת of koh-HEH-let בֶּן the ben דָּוִ֔ד Preacher, da-VEED מֶ֖לֶךְ the MEH-lek בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ son bee-roo-sha-loh-EEM -
הֲבֵ֤ל of huh-VALE הֲבָלִים֙ vanities, huh-va-LEEM אָמַ֣ר saith ah-MAHR קֹהֶ֔לֶת the koh-HEH-let הֲבֵ֥ל Preacher, huh-VALE הֲבָלִ֖ים vanity huh-va-LEEM הַכֹּ֥ל of ha-KOLE הָֽבֶל׃ vanities; HA-vel -
מַה profit ma יִּתְר֖וֹן hath yeet-RONE לָֽאָדָ֑ם a la-ah-DAHM בְּכָל man beh-HAHL עֲמָל֔וֹ of uh-ma-LOH שֶֽׁיַּעֲמֹ֖ל all sheh-ya-uh-MOLE תַּ֥חַת his TA-haht הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃ labour ha-SHA-mesh -
דּ֤וֹר generation dore הֹלֵךְ֙ passeth hoh-lake וְד֣וֹר away, veh-DORE בָּ֔א and ba וְהָאָ֖רֶץ another veh-ha-AH-rets לְעוֹלָ֥ם generation leh-oh-LAHM עֹמָֽדֶת׃ cometh: oh-MA-det -
וְזָרַ֥ח sun veh-za-RAHK הַשֶּׁ֖מֶשׁ also ha-SHEH-mesh וּבָ֣א ariseth, oo-VA הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ and ha-SHA-mesh וְאֶ֨ל the veh-EL מְקוֹמ֔וֹ sun meh-koh-MOH שׁוֹאֵ֛ף goeth shoh-AFE זוֹרֵ֥חַֽ down, zoh-RAY-ha ה֖וּא and hoo שָֽׁם׃ hasteth shahm -
הוֹלֵךְ֙ wind hoh-lake אֶל goeth el דָּר֔וֹם toward da-ROME וְסוֹבֵ֖ב the veh-soh-VAVE אֶל south, el צָפ֑וֹן and tsa-FONE סוֹבֵ֤ב׀ turneth soh-VAVE סֹבֵב֙ about soh-VAVE הוֹלֵ֣ךְ unto hoh-LAKE הָר֔וּחַ the ha-ROO-ak וְעַל north; veh-AL סְבִיבֹתָ֖יו it seh-vee-voh-TAV שָׁ֥ב whirleth shahv הָרֽוּחַ׃ about ha-ROO-ak -
כָּל the kahl הַנְּחָלִים֙ rivers ha-neh-ha-LEEM הֹלְכִ֣ים run hoh-leh-HEEM אֶל into el הַיָּ֔ם the ha-YAHM וְהַיָּ֖ם sea; veh-ha-YAHM אֵינֶ֣נּוּ yet ay-NEH-noo מָלֵ֑א the ma-LAY אֶל sea el מְק֗וֹם is meh-KOME שֶׁ֤הַנְּחָלִים֙ not SHEH-ha-neh-ha-LEEM הֹֽלְכִ֔ים full; hoh-leh-HEEM שָׁ֛ם unto shahm הֵ֥ם the hame שָׁבִ֖ים place sha-VEEM לָלָֽכֶת׃ from la-LA-het -
כָּל things kahl הַדְּבָרִ֣ים are ha-deh-va-REEM יְגֵעִ֔ים full yeh-ɡay-EEM לֹא of loh יוּכַ֥ל labour; yoo-HAHL אִ֖ישׁ man eesh לְדַבֵּ֑ר cannot leh-da-BARE לֹא loh תִשְׂבַּ֥ע utter tees-BA עַ֙יִן֙ it: AH-YEEN לִרְא֔וֹת the leer-OTE וְלֹא eye veh-LOH תִמָּלֵ֥א is tee-ma-LAY אֹ֖זֶן not OH-zen מִשְּׁמֹֽעַ׃ satisfied mee-sheh-MOH-ah -
מַה thing ma שֶּֽׁהָיָה֙ that sheh-ha-YA ה֣וּא hath hoo שֶׁיִּהְיֶ֔ה been, sheh-yee-YEH וּמַה oo-MA שֶׁנַּֽעֲשָׂ֔ה it sheh-na-uh-SA ה֖וּא is hoo שֶׁיֵּעָשֶׂ֑ה that sheh-yay-ah-SEH וְאֵ֥ין which veh-ANE כָּל shall kahl חָדָ֖שׁ be; ha-DAHSH תַּ֥חַת TA-haht הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ׃ and ha-SHA-mesh -
יֵ֥שׁ there yaysh דָּבָ֛ר any da-VAHR שֶׁיֹּאמַ֥ר thing sheh-yoh-MAHR רְאֵה whereof reh-A זֶ֖ה it zeh חָדָ֣שׁ may ha-DAHSH ה֑וּא be hoo כְּבָר֙ said, keh-VAHR הָיָ֣ה See, ha-YA לְעֹֽלָמִ֔ים this leh-oh-la-MEEM אֲשֶׁ֥ר is uh-SHER הָיָ֖ה new? ha-YA מִלְּפָנֵֽנוּ׃ it mee-leh-fa-nay-NOO -
אֵ֥ין is ane זִכְר֖וֹן no zeek-RONE לָרִאשֹׁנִ֑ים remembrance la-ree-shoh-NEEM וְגַ֨ם of veh-ɡAHM לָאַחֲרֹנִ֜ים former la-ah-huh-roh-NEEM שֶׁיִּהְי֗וּ things; sheh-yee-YOO לֹֽא neither loh יִהְיֶ֤ה yee-YEH לָהֶם֙ shall la-HEM זִכָּר֔וֹן there zee-ka-RONE עִ֥ם be eem שֶׁיִּהְי֖וּ any sheh-yee-YOO לָאַחֲרֹנָֽה׃ remembrance la-ah-huh-roh-NA -
אֲנִ֣י the uh-NEE קֹהֶ֗לֶת Preacher koh-HEH-let הָיִ֥יתִי was ha-YEE-tee מֶ֛לֶךְ king MEH-lek עַל over al יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל Israel yees-ra-ALE בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ in bee-roo-sha-loh-EEM -
וְנָתַ֣תִּי I veh-na-TA-tee אֶת gave et לִבִּ֗י lee-BEE לִדְר֤וֹשׁ my leed-ROHSH וְלָתוּר֙ heart veh-la-TOOR בַּֽחָכְמָ֔ה to ba-hoke-MA עַ֛ל seek al כָּל and kahl אֲשֶׁ֥ר search uh-SHER נַעֲשָׂ֖ה out na-uh-SA תַּ֣חַת by TA-haht הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם wisdom ha-sha-MA-yeem ה֣וּא׀ concerning hoo עִנְיַ֣ן all een-YAHN רָ֗ע things ra נָתַ֧ן that na-TAHN אֱלֹהִ֛ים are ay-loh-HEEM לִבְנֵ֥י done leev-NAY הָאָדָ֖ם under ha-ah-DAHM לַעֲנ֥וֹת heaven: la-uh-NOTE בּֽוֹ׃ this boh -
רָאִ֙יתִי֙ have ra-EE-TEE אֶת seen et כָּל kahl הַֽמַּעֲשִׂ֔ים all ha-ma-uh-SEEM שֶֽׁנַּעֲשׂ֖וּ the sheh-na-uh-SOO תַּ֣חַת works TA-haht הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ that ha-SHA-mesh וְהִנֵּ֥ה are veh-hee-NAY הַכֹּ֛ל done ha-KOLE הֶ֖בֶל under HEH-vel וּרְע֥וּת the oo-reh-OOT רֽוּחַ׃ sun; ROO-ak -
מְעֻוָּ֖ת which meh-oo-WAHT לֹא is loh יוּכַ֣ל crooked yoo-HAHL לִתְקֹ֑ן cannot leet-KONE וְחֶסְר֖וֹן veh-hes-RONE לֹא be loh יוּכַ֥ל made yoo-HAHL לְהִמָּנֽוֹת׃ straight: leh-hee-ma-NOTE -
דִּבַּ֨רְתִּי communed dee-BAHR-tee אֲנִ֤י with uh-NEE עִם mine eem לִבִּי֙ own lee-BEE לֵאמֹ֔ר heart, lay-MORE אֲנִ֗י saying, uh-NEE הִנֵּ֨ה Lo, hee-NAY הִגְדַּ֤לְתִּי I heeɡ-DAHL-tee וְהוֹסַ֙פְתִּי֙ am veh-hoh-SAHF-TEE חָכְמָ֔ה come hoke-MA עַ֛ל to al כָּל great kahl אֲשֶׁר estate, uh-SHER הָיָ֥ה and ha-YA לְפָנַ֖י have leh-fa-NAI עַל gotten al יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם more yeh-roo-sha-la-EEM וְלִבִּ֛י wisdom veh-lee-BEE רָאָ֥ה than ra-AH הַרְבֵּ֖ה all hahr-BAY חָכְמָ֥ה they hoke-MA וָדָֽעַת׃ that va-DA-at -
וָאֶתְּנָ֤ה I va-eh-teh-NA לִבִּי֙ gave lee-BEE לָדַ֣עַת my la-DA-at חָכְמָ֔ה heart hoke-MA וְדַ֥עַת to veh-DA-at הוֹלֵל֖וֹת know hoh-lay-LOTE וְשִׂכְל֑וּת wisdom, veh-seek-LOOT יָדַ֕עְתִּי and ya-DA-tee שֶׁגַּם to sheh-ɡAHM זֶ֥ה know zeh ה֖וּא madness hoo רַעְי֥וֹן and ra-YONE רֽוּחַ׃ folly: ROO-ak -
כִּ֛י in kee בְּרֹ֥ב much beh-ROVE חָכְמָ֖ה wisdom hoke-MA רָב is rahv כָּ֑עַס much KA-as וְיוֹסִ֥יף grief: veh-yoh-SEEF דַּ֖עַת and DA-at יוֹסִ֥יף he yoh-SEEF מַכְאֽוֹב׃ that mahk-OVE
