ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਬੰਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸਤੁਤੀ ਗਾਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਵੀਨ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ 288 ਸੀ।
