ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਪਾਲ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਲੇਕਿਨ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨਬੂਕਦਨੱਸਰ ਨੇ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਹੀਕਾਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੋਤਰੇ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ।

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਵਰਾਂਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਗਾਰਦ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਸੀ। ਬਾਬਲ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਅਹੀਕਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਅਹੀਕਾਮ ਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਘਰ ਲੈ ਜਾਵੇ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਘਰ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਰਿਹਾ।

ਜਾਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਅਹੀਕਾਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਫ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੋਤਰੇ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਕੋਲ ਵਾਪਸ ਚੱਲਾ ਜਾ। ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਗਵਰਨਰ ਬਾਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਨਾਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਰਹਿ। ਜਾਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੂੰ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਜੀ ਚਾਹੇ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ।” ਫ਼ੇਰ ਨਬੂਜ਼ਰਦਾਨ ਨੇ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਭੋਜਨ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਤੋਹਫ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

Jeremiah 41:2
ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਇਸ਼ਮਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਉੱਠੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਹੀਕਾਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਕਤਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਗਦਲਯਾਹ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਦੀ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਗਵਰਨਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਚੋਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।
