ଆହାବ୍ଙ୍କ ପତ୍ନୀ ଈଷବଲେ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ୟାଇ ତାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ କାହିଁକି ଏତେ ଦୁଃଖିତ ଓ କାହିଁକି ଭୋଜନ କରୁନାହିଁ?

ତେଣୁ ଈଷବଲେ ଏଲିଯଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଦୁତ ପଠାଇଲେ, ମୁଁ ପ୍ରତିଜ୍ଞା କରୁଛି, ଆସନ୍ତା କାଲି ଠିକ୍ ଏହି ସମୟରେ ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ଯା କରିବି, ଠିକ୍ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସହେି ଭବିଷ୍ଯଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଙ୍କୁ ହତ୍ଯା କଲାପରି। ଯଦି ମୁଁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ହତ୍ଯା ନ କରେ, ତବେେ ଦବେତାଗଣ ମାେତେ ଅଧିକ ଦଣ୍ତ ଦଇପୋରନ୍ତି।

ଆହାବ୍ ନିଜର ପତ୍ନୀ ଈଷବଲେ ଦ୍ବାରା ପ୍ରବର୍ତ୍ତିତ ହାଇେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ଯେତେ ମନ୍ଦକର୍ମ କଲେ, ସପରେି ଆଉ କହେି କରି ନଥିଲେ।
