2 Samuel 17:16
“दाऊदलाई छिटो खबर पठाऊ। तिनलाई मानिसहरूले जहाँ मरूभूमि पार गर्छन् त्यहाँ नबस्नु भन्नु। चाँडै यर्दन नदी पार गर्नु भन्नु। यदि नदी पार गरे भने राजा र तिनका मानिसहरू समातिने छैनन्।”

| this night | הַלַּ֙יְלָה֙ | hallaylāh | ha-LA-LA |
| in the plains | בְּעַֽרְב֣וֹת | bĕʿarbôt | beh-ar-VOTE |
| of the wilderness, | הַמִּדְבָּ֔ר | hammidbār | ha-meed-BAHR |
| but | וְגַ֖ם | wĕgam | veh-ɡAHM |
| speedily | עָב֣וֹר | ʿābôr | ah-VORE |
| pass over; | תַּֽעֲב֑וֹר | taʿăbôr | ta-uh-VORE |
| lest | פֶּ֚ן | pen | pen |
| the king | יְבֻלַּ֣ע | yĕbullaʿ | yeh-voo-LA |
| up, swallowed be | לַמֶּ֔לֶךְ | lammelek | la-MEH-lek |
| and all | וּלְכָל | ûlĕkāl | oo-leh-HAHL |
| the people | הָעָ֖ם | hāʿām | ha-AM |
| that | אֲשֶׁ֥ר | ʾăšer | uh-SHER |
