1 Kings 20:42
അവൻ അവനോടു: യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നാശത്തിന്നായിട്ടു ഞാൻ നിയമിച്ച ആളെ നീ വിട്ടയച്ചുകളകകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ ജീവൻ അവന്റെ ജീവന്നും നിന്റെ ജനം അവന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നും പകരമായിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

| the Lord, | יְהוָ֔ה | yĕhwâ | yeh-VA |
| Because | יַ֛עַן | yaʿan | YA-an |
| go let hast thou | שִׁלַּ֥חְתָּ | šillaḥtā | shee-LAHK-ta |
| out of thy hand | אֶת | ʾet | et |
| אִישׁ | ʾîš | eesh | |
| man a | חֶרְמִ֖י | ḥermî | her-MEE |
| destruction, utter to appointed I whom | מִיָּ֑ד | miyyād | mee-YAHD |
| therefore thy life | וְהָֽיְתָ֤ה | wĕhāyĕtâ | veh-ha-yeh-TA |
| go shall | נַפְשְׁךָ֙ | napšĕkā | nahf-sheh-HA |
| for | תַּ֣חַת | taḥat | TA-haht |
| his life, | נַפְשׁ֔וֹ | napšô | nahf-SHOH |
| people thy and | וְעַמְּךָ֖ | wĕʿammĕkā | veh-ah-meh-HA |
| for | תַּ֥חַת | taḥat | TA-haht |
| his people. | עַמּֽוֹ׃ | ʿammô | ah-moh |
