அப்பொழுது இவன் அவனை நோக்கி: சங்காரத்திற்கு நான் நியமித்த மனுஷனை உன் கையிலிருந்து தப்பிப்போகும்படி நீ விட்டபடியினால், உன் பிராணன் அவன் பிராணனுக்கு ஈடாகவும், உன் ஜனம் அவன் ஜனத்திற்கு ஈடாகவும் இருக்கும் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.

அப்பொழுது இவன் அவனை நோக்கி: கொலைசெய்வதற்கு நான் நியமித்த மனிதனை உன்னுடைய கையிலிருந்து தப்பிப்போகும்படி நீ விட்டதால், உன்னுடைய உயிர் அவனுடைய உயிருக்கு ஈடாகவும், உன்னுடைய மக்கள் அவனுடைய மக்களுக்கு இணையாகவும் இருக்கும் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான்.

தீர்க்கதரிசி அரசனிடம், “கர்த்தர் உம்மிடம், ‘நான் உன்னிடம், மரிக்க வேண்டும் என்று சொன்னவனை விடுதலைச் செய்தாய். எனவே நீ அவனது இடத்தை அடுத்து நீ மரிப்பாய்! உனது ஜனங்கள் அவர்களின் பகைவர்களது இடத்தை எடுப்பார்கள். உன் ஜனங்களும் மரிப்பார்கள்!’ என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னார்” என்றான்.

அப்போது இறைவாக்கினர் அரசனை நோக்கி, “ஆண்டவர் இவ்வாறு கூறுகிறார்: சாவுக்குக் குறிக்கப்பட்டவனை நீ உன் கையிலிருந்து தப்பிப் போகும்படி செய்ததால், அவன் உயிருக்குப் பதிலாக உன் உயிரையும் அவன் மக்களுக்கு ஈடாக உன் மக்களையும் எடுத்துக் கொள்வேன்” என்றார்.

for תַּ֣חַת taḥat ta-HAHT
