Ezekiel 18:18
ಆತನ ತಂದೆಯ ವಿಷಯವಾದರೋ ಅವನು ಬಹಳ ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿ ದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸಿಸಿ ಸುಲಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ ತನ್ನ ಜನರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ ಇಗೋ, ಅವನು ಅಕ್ರಮದಲಿ ಸಾಯುವನು.

ಪಾಪ ಮಾಡುವ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ತಾನಾಗಿ ಸಾಯುವದು; ಮಗನು ತಂದೆಯ ಅಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಹೊರುವದಿಲ್ಲ. ತಂದೆಯು ಮಗನ ಅಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಹೊರುವದಿಲ್ಲ. ನೀತಿವಂತನ ನೀತಿಯು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆಯೇ ಇರುವದು. ದುಷ್ಟನ ದುಷ್ಟತ್ವವು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆಯೇ ಇರುವದು.

ಆದರೆ ನೀತಿ ವಂತನು ತನ್ನ ನೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅನ್ಯಾಯ ಮಾಡಿ ದುಷ್ಟನು ಮಾಡುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾದವುಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅವನು ಬದುಕುವನೇ? ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿ ರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನೀತಿಯು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಮಾಡಲ್ಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಅಪರಾಧದಿಂದಲೂ ಪಾಪ ದಿಂದಲೂ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಯುವನು.

ನೀತಿವಂತನು ತನ್ನ ನೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಅನ್ಯಾಯಮಾಡಿ ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತರೆ, ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಅನ್ಯಾಯದಿಂದಲೇ ಸಾಯುವನು.
