Ezekiel 18:18
પરંતુ એના પિતાએ અન્યાય ગુજાર્યો હતો, ચોરી કરી હતી અને પોતાના લોકોનું ભૂંડું કર્યું હતું. એટલે તેને તો પોતાનાં પાપને કારણે મરવું જ પડશે.

એકેએક જીવ મારો છે. પિતા અને પુત્ર બંને મારે માટે સરખા છે. જે માણસે પાપ કર્યું હશે તે જ મૃત્યુ પામશે.
Ezekiel 18:20
જે માણસ પાપ કરશે તે મરણ પામશે. પુત્રને તેના પિતાનાં પાપોની શિક્ષા થશે નહિ, કે પિતાને પોતાના પુત્રના પાપોની શિક્ષા થશે નહિ. ન્યાયી માણસને પોતાની ભલાઇનો અને દુષ્ટ માણસને પોતાની દુષ્ટતાનો બદલો મળશે.
Ezekiel 18:24
“તેમ છતાં જો કોઇ ન્યાયી માણસ પાપી જીવન તરફ પાછો ફરે અને બીજા પાપીઓની જેમ વતેર્ તો શું તે જીવતો રહેશે? ના સાચે જ તે જીવશે નહિ. તેણે કરેલા ભૂતકાળના સર્વ ભલાઇના કાર્યો સંભારવામાં આવશે નહિ. અને તે પોતાના પાપોને કારણે મૃત્યુ પામશે.”
Ezekiel 18:26
જો કોઇ સારો માણસ પોતાની નીતિમત્તાને છોડીને પાપ કરે છે અને મૃત્યુ પામે છે તો તેણે પોતે કરેલાં પાપને કારણે જ તે મૃત્યુ પામે છે.
John 8:21
ફરીથી ઈસુએ લોકોને કહ્યું, “હું તમને છોડીશ. તમે મારી શોધ કરશો, પણ તમે તમારા પાપ સાથે મૃત્યુ પામશો. હું જ્યાં જાઉં છું, ત્યાં તમે આવી શકશો નહિ.”

તેથી મેં તમને કહ્યું છે કે તમે તમારા પાપોમાં મૃત્યુ પામશો. હા, હું (તે) છું એવો તમે વિશ્વાસ નહિ કરો તો તમે તમારાં પાપોમાં મૃત્યુ પામશો.”
