அந்நாட்களில் இராட்சதர் பூமியிலே இருந்தார்கள்; பின்பு தேவகுமாரர் மனுஷகுமாரத்திகளோடே கூடுகிறதினால், இவர்கள் அவர்களுக்குப் பிள்ளைகளைப் பெற்றபோது, இவர்களும் பூர்வத்தில் பேர் பெற்ற மனுஷராகிய பலவான்களானார்கள்.

முழு உலகத்தையும் தப்பவிடாமல், நீதியைப் பிரசங்கித்த நோவாவையும் மற்ற ஏழு நபர்களையும் காப்பாற்றி, அவபக்தியுள்ளவர்கள் நிறைந்த உலகத்தின்மேல் பெரும்வெள்ளத்தை வரப்பண்ணி;

ஆதிகாலத்தில் வாழ்ந்த தீய மக்களையும் தேவன் தண்டித்தார். தேவனுக்கு எதிரான மக்கள் நிறைந்த உலகின் மேல் தேவன் வெள்ளம் பெருகியோடச் செய்தார். ஆனால் நோவாவையும், நோவாவோடு வேறு ஏழு பேரையும் தேவன் காப்பாற்றினார். சரியான வழியில் வாழ்வதுபற்றி மக்களுக்குப் போதித்த மனிதன் நோவா ஆவான்.
