அப்பொழுது அவனுடைய முழங்கால்கள் நடுவே இருந்த பிள்ளைகளை யோசேப்பு பின்னிடப்பண்ணி, அவனுடைய முகத்துக்கு முன்பாகத் தரைமட்டும் குனிந்து வணங்கினான்.

அப்பொழுது அவன்: நான் இன்னும் பேசுகிறேன், ஆண்டவருக்குக் கோபம் வராமலிருப்பதாக; முப்பது நீதிமான்கள் அங்கே காணப்பட்டாலோ என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்: நான் முப்பது நீதிமான்களை அங்கே கண்டால், அதை அழிப்பதில்லை என்றார்.

மேலும் ஆபிரகாம், “கர்த்தாவே தயவு செய்து என்மீது கோபம் கொள்ளாதிரும். இதையும் கேட்க அனுமதியும், அந்நகரத்தில் 30 நல்ல மனிதர்கள் மட்டும் இருந்தால், அந்நகரத்தை அழித்துவிடுவீரா?” என்று கேட்டான். அதற்குக் கர்த்தர், “நான் 30 நல்ல மனிதர்களைக் கண்டால் அந்நகரத்தை அழிக்கமாட்டேன்” என்றார்.
