பிறகு தேவன் மற்றவர்களிடம் கூறுகிறதைக் கேட்டேன்: “நீங்கள் முதல் மனிதனைப் பின்பற்ற வேண்டும் என நான் விரும்புகிறேன். தன் நெற்றியில் அடையாளம் இல்லாத ஒவ்வொருவரையும் நீங்கள் கொல்லவேண்டும். நீங்கள் யார் மேலும் பரிதாபப்படவேண்டாம். நெற்றியில் அடையாளம் இல்லாத மூப்பர்கள் (தலைவர்கள்) இளைஞர்கள், இளம் பெண்கள், குழந்தைகள், பிள்ளைகள் தாய்மார்கள் உள்பட எல்லோரையும் கொல்லுங்கள். உங்கள் ஆயுதங்களால் அவர்களைக் கொல்லவேண்டும். அவர்களிடம் இரக்கம் காட்டவேண்டாம். எவருக்காகவும் வருத்தப்படவேண்டாம். எனது ஆலயத்திலிருந்தே தொடங்குங்கள்.” எனவே, ஆலயத்தின் முன்னாலிருந்து மூப்பர்களோடு ஆரம்பித்தார்கள்.

he said אָמַ֣ר ʾāmar ah-MAHR

Go עִבְר֥וּ ʿābar ah-VAHR
him through the city, בָעִ֛יר ʿîr eer
ye after אַחֲרָ֖יו ʾaḥar ah-HAHR
and smite: וְהַכּ֑וּ nākâ na-HA
let not עַל ʿal al
spare, תָּחֹ֥ס ḥûs hoos
your eye עֵינְכֶ֖ם ʿayin ah-YEEN
neither וְאַל ʾal al
have ye pity: תַּחְמֹֽלוּ׃ ḥāmal ha-MAHL
