And Joash said unto all that stood against him, Will all of you plead for Baal? will all of you save him? he that will plead for him, let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning: if he be a god, let him plead for himself, because one has cast down his altar.

யோவாஸ் தன்னை எதிர்த்து நிற்கிற அனைவரையும் பார்த்து: நீங்களா பாகாலுக்காக வாதாடுவீர்கள்? நீங்களா அதைக் காப்பாற்றுவீர்கள்? அதற்காக வாதாடுகிறவர்கள் இன்று காலையிலே சாகட்டும்; அது தேவனானால் தன்னுடைய பலிபீடத்தைத் தகர்த்ததினால், அதுவே தனக்காக வாதாடட்டும் என்றான்.

தன்னைச் சுற்றிலும் கூடியிருந்த ஜனங்களைப் பார்த்து யோவாஸ், “நீங்கள் பாகாலுக்காகப் பரிந்து பேசுகிறீர்களா? பாகாலை மீண்டும் பாதுகாக்கப் போகிறீர்களா? பாகாலைச் சார்ந்திருக்கிறவன் எவனோ, அவன் காலைக்குள் கொல்லப்படக்கடவன். பாகால் உண்மையிலேயே பலமுள்ள தேவனாக இருந்தால் அவனது பலிபீடத்தை ஒருவன் அழிக்கும்போது தன்னை காப்பாற்றிக்கொண்டிருக்கலாமே” என்றான்.

யோவாஸ் தனக்கு விரோதமாக நிற்கிற அனைவரையும் பார்த்து: நீங்களா பாகாலுக்காக வழக்காடுவீர்கள்? நீங்களா அதை இரட்சிப்பீர்கள்? அதற்காக வழக்காடுகிறவன் இன்று காலையிலே தானே சாகக்கடவன்; அது தேவனானால் தன் பலிபீடத்தைத் தகர்த்ததினிமித்தம், அது தானே தனக்காக வழக்காடட்டும் என்றான்.
