Therefore hear all of you the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, says the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD lives.

ஆகையால், எகிப்து தேசத்தில் குடியிருக்கிற யூதா மக்களாகிய நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேளுங்கள்; இதோ, கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவருடைய உயிருள்ள வாக்கு என்று, எகிப்து தேசமெங்கும் ஒரு யூத மனிதன் வாயினாலும் இனி என் பெயர் வழங்கப்படுவதில்லையென்று நான் என் மகத்தான பெயரைக்கொண்டு ஆணையிடுகிறேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

ஆனால் கர்த்தரிடமிருந்து வந்த வார்த்தையைக் கேளுங்கள். எகிப்தில் வாழ்ந்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிற யூதாவிலுள்ள அனைத்து ஜனங்களே! ‘நான் எனது பெரும் பெயரைப் பயன்படுத்தி இந்த வாக்குறுதியைச் செய்கிறேன். யூதாவிலுள்ள ஜனங்களில் எகிப்தில் இப்பொழுது வாழ்ந்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிற எவரும் என் நாமத்தால் மீண்டும் வாக்குறுதி செய்யமாட்டார்கள் என்று நான் வாக்குறுதி அளிக்கிறேன். அவர்கள் மீண்டும் “இதோ கர்த்தருடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு…” என்று சத்தியம் செய்யமாட்டார்கள்.
