And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again strike any more every thing living, as I have done.

சுகந்த வாசனையைக் கர்த்தர் முகர்ந்தார். அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர்: இனி நான் மனிதனுக்காக பூமியை சபிப்பதில்லை; மனிதனுடைய இருதயத்தின் நினைவுகள் அவனுடைய சிறுவயது தொடங்கி பொல்லாததாக இருக்கிறது; நான் இப்பொழுது செய்ததுபோல, இனி அனைத்து உயிரினங்களையும் அழிப்பதில்லை.
