Genesis 16:6
But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, your maid is in yours hand; do to her as it pleases you. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.

அதற்கு ஆபிராம் சாராயை நோக்கி: இதோ, உன் அடிமைப்பெண் உன் அதிகாரத்திற்குள் இருக்கிறாள்; உன் பார்வைக்கு நலமாகத் தோன்றுகிறபடி அவளுக்குச் செய் என்றான். அப்பொழுது சாராய் அவளைக் கடினமாக நடத்தியதால் அவள் அவளைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போனாள்.

ஆனால் ஆபிராமோ சாராயிடம், “நீ ஆகாரின் எஜமானி, நீ அவளுக்கு செய்ய விரும்புவதைச் செய்யலாம்” என்றான். எனவே சாராய் ஆகாரைக் கடினமாகத் தண்டித்தபடியால் அவள் சாராயை விட்டு ஓடிப்போனாள்.
