Jeremiah 2:19
Yours own wickedness shall correct you, and your backslidings shall reprove you: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that you have forsaken the LORD your God, and that my fear is not in you, says the Lord GOD of hosts.

உன் தீமை உன்னைத் தண்டிக்கும், உன் மாறுபாடுகள் உன்னைக் கண்டிக்கும்; நீ உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை விடுகிறதும், என்னைப்பற்றும் பயம் உன்னிடத்தில் இல்லாமலிருக்கிறதும், எத்தனை பொல்லாப்பும் கசப்புமான காரியம் என்று உணர்ந்துகொள் என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

நீங்கள் தீயவற்றைச் செய்தீர்கள், அத்தீயவை உங்களுக்குத் தண்டனையைமட்டும் கொண்டு வரும். துன்பம் உங்களுக்கு வரும். அத்துன்பம் உனக்குப் பாடத்தைக் கற்பிக்கும். இதைப்பற்றி சிந்தி! பிறகு உன் தேவனிடமிருந்து விலகுவது எவ்வளவு கெட்டது என்பதை நீ புரிந்துகொள்வாய்; என்னை மதிக்காததும் எனக்குப் பயப்படாததும் தவறு!” இச்செய்தி எனது ஆண்டவராகிய சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள கர்த்தரிடமிருந்து வந்தது.
