Isaiah 38:1
In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus says the LORD, Set yours house in order: for you shall die, and not live.

அந்நாட்களில் எசேக்கியா வியாதிப்பட்டு மரணத்தருவாயிலிருந்தான்; அப்பொழுது ஆமோத்சின் மகனாகிய ஏசாயா என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசி அவனிடத்தில் வந்து, அவனை நோக்கி: நீர் உமது வீட்டுக்காரியத்தை ஒழுங்குபடுத்தும், நீர் பிழைக்கமாட்டீர், மரணமடைவீர் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்கிறார் என்றான்.

அந்த நேரத்தில், எசேக்கியா சுகவீனம்அடைந்தான். அவன் மரணத்துக்கு சமீபமாயிருந்தான். ஆமோத்சின் மகனான ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசி அவனைப் பார்க்க வந்தான். ஏசாயா அரசனிடம், “இவற்றை உன்னிடம் சொல்லுமாறு கர்த்தர் கூறினார்: நீ விரைவில் மரிப்பாய். எனவே, நீ மரித்தபிறகு அவர்கள் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டும் என்று உனது குடும்பத்தாரிடம் சொல்ல வேண்டும். நீ மீண்டும் குணமடையமாட்டாய்!” என்று கூறினான்.
