Genesis 4:25
And Adam had sexual contact with his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, has appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

ஆதாம் ஏவாளோடு பாலின் உறவு கொண்டான். ஏவாள் இன்னொரு மகனைப் பெற்றாள். அவனுக்குச் சேத் என்று பெயரிட்டனர். ஏவாள், “தேவன் எனக்கு இன்னொரு மகனைக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார். காயீன் ஆபேலைக் கொன்றான். ஆனால் நான் சேத்தைப் பெற்றேன்” என்றாள்.
