Yet the LORD would not destroy Judah for David his servant's sake, as he promised him to give him always a light, and to his children.

ஆனால் தன் வேலையாள் தாவீதிற்கு கர்த்தர் சத்தியம் செய்து கொடுத்திருந்ததால் யூதாவை அழிக்கமாட்டார். அவர் ஏற்கெனவே தாவீதின் குடும்பத்தில் உள்ளவனே அரசனாக எப்பொழுதும் இருப்பான் என்று ஆணையிட்டுள்ளார்.
