Go all of you, enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.

அரசன் இவர்களிடம், “சென்று நாம் என்ன செய்ய வேண்டுமென்று கர்த்தரிடம் கேளுங்கள். எனக்காகக் கர்த்தரிடம் இந்த ஜனங்களுக்காகவும் யூத நாட்டிற்காகவும் கேளுங்கள். இப்புத்தகத்தில் காணப்படும் வார்த்தைகளைப்பற்றி கேளுங்கள். கர்த்தர் நம்மீது கோபமாக இருக்கிறார். ஏனென்றால் நமது முற்பிதாக்கள் இப்புத்தகத்தில் கூறியுள்ளவற்றை கவனிக்காமல் போனார்கள். நமக்காக எழுதப்பட்ட இதன்படி அவர்கள் செய்யவில்லை!” என்றான்.
