And David spoke unto the LORD when he saw the angel that stroke the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let yours hand, I pray you, be against me, and against my father's house.

ஜனங்களைக் கொன்ற தூதனை தாவீது பார்த்தான். தாவீது கர்த்தரிடம் பேசினான். தாவீது, “நான் பாவம் செய்தேன்! நான் தவறிழைத்தேன். இந்த ஜனங்கள் ஆடுகளைப் போன்று என்னைப் பின் பற்றினார்கள். அவர்கள் தவறேதும் செய்யவில்லை. என்னையும் எனது தந்தையின் குடும்பத்தையும் நீங்கள் தண்டியுங்கள்” என்றான்.
