ஜனத்தை உபாதிக்கிற தூதனை தாவீது கண்டபோது, அவன் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: இதோ, நான்தான் பாவஞ்செய்தேன்; நான்தான் அக்கிரமம்பண்ணினேன்; இந்த ஆடுகள் என்ன செய்தது? உம்முடைய கை எனக்கும் என் தகப்பன் வீட்டுக்கும் விரோதமாயிருப்பதாக என்று விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினான்.

மக்களை வேதனைப்படுத்துகிற தூதனை தாவீது கண்டபோது, அவன் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி: இதோ, நான்தான் பாவம் செய்தேன்; நான்தான் அக்கிரமம் செய்தேன்; இந்த ஆடுகள் என்ன செய்தது? உம்முடைய கை எனக்கும் என்னுடைய தகப்பன் வீட்டுக்கும் விரோதமாக இருப்பதாக என்று விண்ணப்பம்செய்தான்.

ஜனங்களைக் கொன்ற தூதனை தாவீது பார்த்தான். தாவீது கர்த்தரிடம் பேசினான். தாவீது, “நான் பாவம் செய்தேன்! நான் தவறிழைத்தேன். இந்த ஜனங்கள் ஆடுகளைப் போன்று என்னைப் பின் பற்றினார்கள். அவர்கள் தவறேதும் செய்யவில்லை. என்னையும் எனது தந்தையின் குடும்பத்தையும் நீங்கள் தண்டியுங்கள்” என்றான்.
