1 இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாகாசின் குமாரன் யோவாசுடைய இரண்டாம் வருஷத்திலே யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோவாசின் குமாரன் அமத்சியா ராஜாவானான். In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah.

2 அவன் ராஜாவாகிறபோது இருபத்தைந்து வயதாயிருந்து, எருசலேமிலே இருபத்தொன்பது வருஷம் ராஜ்யபாரம் பண்ணினான்; எருசலேம் நகரத்தாளான அவன் தாயின் பேர் யொவதானாள். He was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.

3 அவன் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையானதைச் செய்தான்; ஆனாலும் தன் தகப்பனாகிய தாவீதைப்போலல்ல; தன் தகப்பனாகிய யோவாஸ் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் செய்தான். And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Joash his father did.

4 மேடைகள் மாத்திரம் அகற்றப்படவில்லை; ஜனங்கள் இன்னும் மேடைகளின்மேல் பலியிட்டுத் தூபங்காட்டிவந்தார்கள். Howbeit the high places were not taken away: as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places.

5 ராஜ்யபாரம் அவன் கையிலே ஸ்திரப்பட்டபோது, அவனுடைய தகப்பனாகிய ராஜாவைக் கொன்றுபோட்ட தன் ஊழியக்காரரைக் கொன்றுபோட்டான். And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father.

6 ஆனாலும் பிள்ளைகளினிமித்தம் பிதாக்கள் கொலைசெய்யப்படாமலும் பிதாக்களினிமித்தம் பிள்ளைகள் கொலைசெய்யப்படாமலும், அவனவன் செய்த பாவத்தினிமித்தம் அவனவன் கொலைசெய்யப்படவேண்டும் என்று மோசேயின் நியாயப்பிரமாண புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி, கர்த்தர் கட்டளையிட்ட பிரகாரம் கொலைசெய்தவர்களின் பிள்ளைகளை அவன் கொல்லாதிருந்தான். But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

7 அவன் உப்புப் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே ஏதோமியரின் பதினாயிரம்பேரை மடங்கடித்து, யுத்தஞ்செய்து சேலாவைப் பிடித்து, அதற்கு இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் இருக்கிற யொக்தியேல் என்னும் பேரைத்தரித்தான். He slew of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and took Selah by war, and called the name of it Joktheel unto this day.

1 Isravaelin raajaavaakiya yovaakaasin kumaaran yovaasutaiya iranndaam varushaththilae yoothaavin raajaavaakiya yovaasin kumaaran amathsiyaa raajaavaanaan. In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah.

2 Avan raajaavaakirapothu irupaththainthu vayathaayirunthu, erusalaemilae irupaththonpathu varusham raajyapaaram pannnninaan; Jerusalem nakaraththaalaana avan thaayin paer yovathaanaal. 3 Avan karththarin paarvaikkuch semmaiyaanathaich seythaan; aanaalum than thakappanaakiya thaaveethaippolalla; than thakappanaakiya yovaas seythapatiyellaam seythaan. And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Joash his father did.

4 Maetaikal maaththiram akattappadavillai; janangal innum maetaikalinmael paliyittuth thoopangaattivanthaarkal. Howbeit the high places were not taken away: as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places.

5 Raajyapaaram avan kaiyilae sthirappattapothu, avanutaiya thakappanaakiya raajaavaik kontupotta than ooliyakkaararaik kontupottan. And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father.

6 Aanaalum pillaikalinimiththam pithaakkal kolaiseyyappadaamalum pithaakkalinimiththam pillaikal kolaiseyyappadaamalum, avanavan seytha paavaththinimiththam avanavan kolaiseyyappadavaenndum entu Mosesyin niyaayappiramaana pusthakaththil eluthiyirukkirapati, Karththar kattalaiyitta pirakaaram kolaiseythavarkalin pillaikalai avan kollaathirunthaan. He slew of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and took Selah by war, and called the name of it Joktheel unto this day.
