உமது அடியாளின் பாதகத்தை மன்னியும், கர்த்தர் என் ஆண்டவனுக்கு நிலையான வீட்டை நிச்சயமாய்க் கட்டுவார்; என் ஆண்டவன் கர்த்தருடைய யுத்தங்களை நடத்துகிறவராமே; நீர் உயிரோடே இருக்கும் நாளில் ஒரு பொல்லாப்பும் உம்மிலே காணப்படாதிருப்பதாக.

நீங்கள் மக்களுக்குள்ளே போய், இரத்தத்தோடிருக்கிறதைச் சாப்பிடுவதால், கர்த்தருக்கு எதிராக பாவம் செய்யாதபடிக்கு, அவரவர் தங்கள் மாட்டையும் அவரவர் தங்கள் ஆட்டையும் என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்து, இங்கே அடித்து, பின்பு சாப்பிடவேண்டும் என்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள் என்று கட்டளையிட்டான்; ஆகவே, மக்கள் எல்லோரும் அவரவர் தங்கள் மாடுகளை அன்று இரவு தாங்களே கொண்டுவந்து, அங்கே அடித்தார்கள்.

மேலும், “ஜனங்களிடம் போங்கள், இரத்தத்தோடு இருப்பதைச் சாப்பிடுவதால் கர்த்தருக்கு எதிராகப் பாவம் செய்துவிட்டீர்கள். தங்கள் மாட்டையும் ஆட்டையும் என் முன் கொண்டு வர வேண்டும் எனச் சொல்லுங்கள். இங்குதான் அவர்கள் ஆடுகளையும், மாடுகளையும் கொல்லவேண்டும். கர்த்தருக்கு எதிராகப் பாவம் செய்யவேண்டாம். இரத்தம் உறைந்திருக்கிற இறைச்சியை உண்ணவேண்டாம்” என்றான். அன்று இரவு ஒவ்வொருவனும் தங்கள் மிருகங்களைக் கொண்டு வந்து அங்கே கொன்றனர்.
