పూర్వకాలమున హోరీయులు శేయీరులో నివసించిరి. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు యెహోవా తమకిచ్చిన స్వాస్థ్యమైన దేశములో చేసినట్లు ఏశావు సంతానపువారు హోరీయుల దేశమును స్వాధీన పరచుకొని తమ యెదుటనుండి వారిని నశింపజేసి వారి దేశములో నివసించిరి.
ద్వితీయోపదేశకాండమ 2:22
అట్లు ఆయన శేయీరులో నివసించు ఏశావు సంతానముకొరకు చేసెను. ఎట్లనగా ఆయన వారి యెదుటనుండి హోరీయులను నశింపజేసెను గనుక వారు హోరీయుల దేశమును స్వాధీనపరచుకొని నేటి వరకు వారిచోట నివసించుచున్నారు.
