అతనికి ముప్పదిమంది కుమారులును ముప్పదిమంది కుమార్తెలును ఉండిరి. అతడు ఆ కుమార్తెలను తన వంశమున చేరనివారికిచ్చి, తన వంశ మునకు చేరని ముప్పది మంది కన్యలను తన కుమారులకు పెండ్లి చేసెను. అతడు ఏడేండ్లు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు అధి పతిగా నుండెను.
